Mockingbird Foundation Donates Hundreds of CDs
to the Jimmy Fund Music Library Started By Amy Schwartz.
READ
A LETTER FROM Lisa Scherber, Activities Coordinator
AT THE JIMMY FUND
CLINIC REGARDING THE SUCCESS OF THIS CLUB!
Amy Schwartz, Todd's sister, is starting a Jimmy Fund
Music Library / Celebration Club.
As many of you know, music can be soothing and relaxing or
energizing...all necessary feelings for a young cancer patient. As many of
you may not know, music was a passion of Todd's and he had recently taught
himself to play guitar and was writing songs. Through the creation of the
Jimmy Fund Music Library/Celebration Club, Amy is honoring Todd's desire
to bring music into the lives of those who need cheering up and
inspiration to make each day a little brighter. Amy will send a card (for
birthdays, anniversaries, graduations, any occasion, accomplishment, or
"just because," etc.) to the honoree on their special day
letting them know that a gift of music was given in their honor to the
Jimmy Fund Clinic. She will make note of who donated in their honor.
Donations of CDs and headphones are also happily accepted for the patients
of the Jimmy Fund. Amy has found that this is an appropriate and
meaningful way to honor Todd by bringing his love of music to other
children.
To enroll anyone in the Celebration Club program, please
send a donation of $10 to Amy Schwartz (see address below). Enrollment
will be ongoing. With the money she collects, Amy will continuously
purchase headphones and CDs for the Jimmy Fund Clinic so that teens who
are undergoing chemotherapy can listen to music while they get treatments
(which can be lengthy). In addition, your honoree will be able to share in
the happiness of knowing that their special day is being shared with a
child at the Jimmy Fund.
Please send your check for $10 payable to:
Amy Schwartz
1020 High Street
Westwood, MA 02090
Please also include your name and the name, address, and
occasion being celebrated (examples: birth date, anniversary date, date of
graduation, etc.) by the person you are enrolling/honoring.
Alternatively, you may mail your CD's and/or headphones to
Amy at the same address as a donation.
Any questions regarding the program can be directed to
Amy, or any member of the Schwartz family.
